We Commemorated Our Ancestor with Respect and Longing

Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated on the 85th anniversary of his death with a ceremony held at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ).

At the ceremony held in front of the Rectorate, after the wreath was laid at the Atatürk Monument by MAKÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, excerpts from Atatürk's speeches were listened to, and at 09:05, a 2-minute moment of silence was observed with the sounding of sirens.

Academicians and administrative staff present at the ceremony area participated in the moment of silence with the sound of the siren. Then, the National Anthem was sung. Torches were lit on both sides of the monument, and the flags were lowered to half-mast.
